About me/my organization
Douglas County School District maintains its position as a leader in public education in Colorado, with many innovative programs and educational approaches. DCSD offers a variety of suicide prevention services for student, staff, and community members. These services include ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training), QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer), ASIST Tune-Ups, suicide intervention protocols and coordination with community agencies.

Parents can find many different choices through the District such as open enrollment, charter schools, instruction for gifted and talented students, magnet schools, an International Baccalaureate program, Advanced Placement courses and other special programs. Our vision is to "create responsible citizens who contribute to society." We strive to maintain a well-researched, integrated and standards-based curriculum, a rich array of extracurricular offerings and strong community involvement.

First Project Safety Net Sponsored ASIST Training

We had our first Project Safety Net sponsored ASIST training on Monday and Tuesday of this week. Although the group was small, they did a fantastic job. It was great to seem them use the model in the Workgroup Simulations.

Hi DCSD! I have been speaking w/Marie from the Art from Ashes program, doing some collaboration work re: suicide prevention. We may plan to do a QPR training for their staff and volunteers Who come into contact w/our PSN targets in Jefferson, Clear Creek & Gilpin Conties. But she wanted to know if there was someone in Douglas County that could do QPR trainings for the folks down there. I am assuming that would be you? Give her a call. 303-837-1550
